“There were two gentlemen and I do mean gentleman in hats and gloves that day who were just so lovely. The rain was bucketing down and they were so dignified and respectful and nothing was a problem. Mum always told us her father said ‘mud was money on a farm’ and that he’d be out there in his boots digging trenches to make sure every drop of water went where it was needed.  I reckon she made it rain for the farmers that day. It was almost like a scene from a movie, 20+ people in the pouring rain at a country cemetery.

One of these gentlemen offered to put a poem I’d recited and had written about my dear mum in with her - that brings tears just thinking of it. What a kind and thoughtful thing to do for me with all the disruption, mud, rain, wind and cold and I wanted to thank him especially. The gentleman who attended that day said the conditions were amongst the most ‘unique’ he had experienced in his entire 23 years as a funeral director.

Many thanks again. Someone will be in contact with you when my life is over, as I’ll be buried with my beautiful mum. But you’ll have to wait and see if I decide on rain or sunshine that day.”

From the viewing on the Sunday evening until the Service at the Cemetery, all arrangements were exquisite.

“Our family chose Tobin Brothers based on recommendations and they far exceeded expectations. A very stressful and difficult time made easier with True professionals that held our hand every step of the way showing genuine care and compassion.

I know funeral costs can be an expensive once off however the level of service and care received throughout the process of planning and the delivery of the service made the cost somewhat negligible.

I was incredibly satisfied with the total level of care, knowledge and service. The entire team are to be commended for their composure and care.”

"You certainly know your job and we were very fortunate to come across such a great group of people to share our grief with".

"Staff could not do enough for me and my family during that period. Very considerate".

"To Melissa Laird and the staff at Tobin Brothers Funerals, I can’t thank you enough for the service you provided for my family.

It was a difficult and emotional time for my family as it was such a shock losing someone that we had loved so very dearly, and Melissa put our minds at ease during the whole service.

Melissa, I can’t put into words how you helped our family - making what was the worst time of our life, to making it memorable.

Thank you for leading my mums funeral. Thank you for holding my hand at the worst of times. Thanks for giving me the strength I never thought possible but most of all Thank You for just being there for me and my family.

I hope and pray to The Lord above that I won’t have to do this again but if I ever do you will be the first to be called. Thanks once again, and god bless you”
